Letter Recognition at Home – Recommended by YOU!
One of the reasons I love this job so much is that I get to connect with so many amazing Moms in our community, even if it’s behind the phone on social media. Everyone is so willing to help and give recommendations!
Last week I asked you for help with Letter Recognition ideas and actives to do at home and on vacation over the Summer. Wow! So many great ideas were shared that I felt I had to share with all of you. I’m hoping that I can keep these types of blog posts going because I get a ton of great inspiration from our Hyde Park Moms community. Feel free to email me email me anytime with your ideas incase I missed any.
This has already been a hit at home with my 3 year old! It’s fun book and the more you read, the more they will start to recognize the letters. We are aiming for 1 time each day.
Your tip was to start small, like with only 4 letters every few days. This was they can nail the chuck of letters and keep it in their memory. Add on other activities like the ones below with the certain letters for a bigger impact!
If you have an old baking tray, use that for this activity! Get a dry-erase marker and have your child practice the letters on the tray!
A Mom recommended this activity that her son is working on and it’s an easy way to add in more letter work without it seeming like “work!” I love that the letters are textured too! There are some other options currently out at Target in the dollar section too!
Try making a lunch all around the “Letter of the Day” (check out this helpful blog post from another Mom blogger/influencer in town, Ruby and Frances). I love these cute cookie cutters to cut out sandwiches or fruit!
Always a simple, cheap way to add in more letter recognition throughout their day!
Just got this one and will let you know how it goes. Some of you recommended the Summer Bridge brand too for workbooks.
